Many things have been put together, for opening the school this year 2004.
Nuba Christian High School Report

Bellow are what have been done so far:

 

Many meetings have been done.

1.) With Government for approving opening a school
2.) Wirh Kaduglis County leaders
3.) With local community and the church

We thank God the second last meeting was done with presence of Chairman of NCFM, Mr. George Tuto and Rev. Jim Tomkins.

The school committee was formed and it consists of (17) seventeen members as  following members:

Yagoub Stephanus, Chairman
Nicola Hamdan, General Secretary (Head teacher)
Rev. Ibrahim Kuku, School Treasurer  (ECS  priest
Six (6) reprsentatives from different denominations: Episcopal Church of Sudan, Church of Christ, Evanelical Church, Catholic
Church, Orthodox Church, Islamic Religion and four (4) representatives from different centers of administrators of Kadugli County: Educational Officer of Kadugli
County, Executive directors of the Kadugli County, Police officers for security, Representative of women.

 

The work is to start immediately after formation of the committee

Registration begins from 1st – 30th October 2004

 

The Opening of the School will start on 15/11/2004
The place of registration is George Kuri Institute (Kurji)
The school will start with one class form one (1) this year at maximum of 45-50 students.

 

Bishop Andudu then goes on to share the details re budget and purchasing of supplies for the school.  Following this, he gives the details on the new staff.  I share this with you from his report.

The High School Teaching Staff:

 

There are two (2) teachers from East Africa and they will be teaching in the High School, the selection of those teachers was done by the NRRDO Educational coordinator; Mr. Cornolis Mangati. One teacher is from Uganda and the other is from Kenya. Plus the head-teacher will be teaching also.

 

Transportation costs vary due to different places from which teachers come from. The teacher from Uganda was transported from Kampala (Uganda) to Nairobi (Kenya) and then to Lokichoggio (Kenya) where he took off to Nuba Mountains totaling transportation cost of 4,000.00 Ksh. Equivalent to $54 and that was done in coordination with NRRDO.

 

The teacher from Kenya was transported to Lokichoggio and accommodation then to Nuba Mountains with total of 2,500.00 Ksh. Equivalent to $33.33 then the total cost of transporting East African teachers is 6,500.00 Ksh. Equivalent to $86.67 All the above was in coordination with the NRRDO
