The Task at Hand
Over the next four years we hope to re-build (X) churches and to break ground on (X) new churches. [Bishop Andudu, please give us some indication as to number of churches that need to be either repaired and built new.]
Bishop Mubarak Bible Institute
When Bishop Andudu was with us last March 2004, he expressed that among his priorities was the reopening of the Bishop Mubarak Bible Institute. It had been destroyed during the years of civil war.
[Bishop Andudu: please give us a report on number of students. A picture of the Institute in its present development would also be great. Also, a bit of history about the Institute would be of interest and the role it will play in the Diocese in the years ahead.]
Cost estimate: $20,600 Raised in 2004: $10,400
Rebuilding the Churches
(X) churches were destoyed during the Civil War and need to be rebuilt. The church at Katcha is one church that was destroyed. Services continue to be held here without its roof.
$5,000 is needed to repair this church.
Katcha Church after Bombing

In addition to rebuilding damaged or destroyed churches, there is also a need to build new churches. Within the Anglican Communion, the Church of Sudan is one of the fastest growing areas in all of the Anglican Communion. This growth has taken place even though its situation has been extremely difficult, and counts many martyrs.
